OBJECTIVE To get young people to go out and vote during any elections.

INSIGHT About two-thirds of 18-33 year olds admit to feeling FOMO regularly. “People go vote when they know that everyone around them is doing it, too. It is basically the ‘fear of missing out’ (FOMO) effect applied to politics.” And one of the biggest reasons young people don’t vote is that they don’t feel they have a lack of education/preparation on the issues.

STRATEGY Use Spotify to tap into FOMO and give people an incentive for researching and get rewarded with exclusive content. Use #VOMO, Vote or Miss Out to increase shareability.

SOCIAL MEDIA

To get people excited about unlocking the exclusive content, the day before you can unlock it,
Spotify will post these on Instagram to give hints on who the next day’s artist will be.

IN-APP ADS

In-App Ads will pop up when a customer logs onto their app and tries to listen to music.

VIDEO THUMBNAILS

Each video will have one of the artists explaining an issue happening in the world.
This adds an extra level of interest in learning about a topic and also makes research more approachable coming from an artist themselves.

COVER & ALBUM ART

After each day’s video learning about a specific issue happening in the world today, cover art will be released for each of the songs. On the final day of videos, a collaboration song by all of the artists in the campaign will be launched and unlocked if users vote in the election and complete all the videos.

POSTERS

INSTAGRAM & SNAPCHAT FILTERS

These filters will be another reward each day for those who watch the videos everyday.
The filters will also play a portion of the days song so that others viewing it will feel the FOMO
and want to also enjoy this exclusive content and watch the videos.

STICKERS

Users that use #VOMO and post their reactions or even their own dances to these singles will receive these
stickers after each songs artist. At the end when they vote and unlock the collaboration song will receive the “I Voted” sticker.
